Physic Garden Project- Serving people, plants & wildlife. Welcome!

The Physic Garden Project is an organic medicinal herb garden, founded by
Lisa-Marie Davies, Herbalist and Naturopath, in spring 2010.
It has a glorious gently sloping, south-facing position in the heart of Stanmer Organics, Stanmer, Sussex.
The project provides a wonderful environment to learn about plant medicines, both wild and cultivated.
We offer workshops in all aspects of herbal medicine, herb walks (foraging wild medicinal plants) educational talks, and tours of the garden, kids activities including outdoor-educational days, all outdoors in an informal garden setting.
If you would like to book a tailor-made day at the Physic Garden Project, do get in touch, we would love to hear from you – Schools, groups, businesses and individuals all welcome.
We also tailor make team-building days for businesses and groups.
The project aims include:
•Providing education in herbal medicine and naturopathy
• Generating an organic seed bank from the medicinal herbs grown on site
• Safeguarding precious habitat for our wildlife and serving our community

Hi Lisa, I have recently found out about your physic garden and wondered if you still have volunteer days in the winter and if you do any other days than Fridays (as I work on that day) I don’t know alot about medicinal herbs but am really interested to find out more and would love to come and see the garden sometime. Do you have any other events happening in the near future. I would like to come to the talk on weds 11th but think it may be the last evening of another course I am doing.
Best wishes,
Sue Roberts
Hi Sue
Its a great time to be at the garden.
We still have volunteering on Fridays so do come along if you are still interested
Best wishes
Lisa
Hi Sue
We have our open day on 29th Aug
Do come along!
we are still offering volunteer days (on a Friday). Do drop me a line if you would like to come along
Hi Lisa,
I hope this finds you well,
Donna Close suggested you would be interested in participating in an event I am organising as part of my residency at Fabrica, Ecologies of Place, called Sustenance: A Supper for the Third Paradise. I can’t find any contact for you, so sorry for this bizarre approach.
The event will be either on there 24th or 25th August at Field on Lewes Road with Old Tree Brewery catering for the event. During this event we will be asking ourselves how can artists and companies (including co-ops and businesses based on ethical practices) work together to create places of enduring value? The University of Brighton and Fabrica are inviting 20 artists and sustainable businesses to come together to discuss this question over dinner. We don’t have a great number of space so please get in touch as soon as possible, but I thing it would be a really loss if Physic Garden Project would not be represented at this event.
To register for a place please email caitlin.heffernan@fabrica.org.uk no later than 9am on Monday 15 August or contact me by email lorenza@lorenzaippolito.co.uk.
Looking forward to hearing back from you.
Best,
Lo.
Hi Lisa I work full time but get days off in week sometimes. I want to learn more about herbs in memory of my sister who was a herbalist. Did my first foraging walk this year it was really interesting. Will check out your website.
Hi Maria
I am very sorry to hear of your loss. Learning about herbs is a lovely way to get closer to nature and spend special times in the countryside. Please do get in touch via email physicgardenproject@gmail.com. I will then put you on my database so that you can receive updates of walks and workshops etc. You might also like to sign up Stanmer Organics newsletter, if so please let me know. I look forward to hearing from again you soon
